Yesterday we celebrated Jack's birthday. He turned 8. One thing to know about Jack is that some how his birthday always turns into a week long extravaganza. He enjoys every detail and loves traditions. Jack is a kid who loves life and is so grateful for everything you give him. He makes it easy to spoil him. Grandma and Grandpa Wirick came up for a surprise visit, so we enjoyed the day with them. We had a fun party at Chuck E. Cheese. Tonight we have friends coming over for cake and ice cream. Here is a picture of him modeling his new cub scout neckerchief. Where has the time gone. I cannot believe my baby boy Jack is 8 years old.
I am also very excited to announce that Logan T. Wirick is walking! He is a maniac on two legs. He goes from drawer to shelf unloading it as fast as he can. He also says, hi, thank you, peek a boo, uh oh, dada, mama, Gack (Jack), Charlie and num num num. He will play peek a boo, patty cake, and so big on demand. If Sam or Jack is on the ground, he likes to climb all over them. He misses nothing that is going on in the house. I have to watch him all of the time to make sure he has not swallowed legos, star wars toys, dog food, etc. Here is a picture of him showing off his mad skills.Lastly, it is spring soccer season. Do you know how miserable that is up here in the Northwest? When I signed Jack up, I didn't consider that I would be sitting out in the rain and cold trying to hold a baby and an umbrella. However, he has enjoyed it and it is fun watching him improve each week. This week was nice weather, so we all went to the game. Sam insisted on wearing his soccer outfit too. It was too cute to resist; actually Sam is almost always too cute to resist. It is that smile that gets me. The cleats he wore are about two sizes too big, but he tromped around in them all day long. Look at how proud he is.Here are a few shots of Jack in action. He usually plays forward or goalie. He has a healthy dose of self-esteem that one. I will say no more :)For a laugh...Sam said he learned about ears today in sunbeams. I asked him what he could hear with his ears. Jack and Sam both answered. "Farts!" I am such a proud mommy.
